Art connects us. It provides an opportunity for students to explore creative autonomy, cultivate relationships, and connect to their surroundings. Art class is a place for students to develop their critical thinking, personal expression and communication skills. Through the process of making art, students gain an understanding of their history, culture and society. A strong art program puts emphasis on inclusive learning environments and fostering a diverse multicultural art education curriculum. Within this education structure, students are encouraged to contribute from different perspectives, take risks, and make a difference in their own communities.
