New Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Watch this video to learn what school will look like this year. It includes more information on drop-off and pick-up procedures.

  • For children attending in-person schooling in grades K to 5, drop-off and pick-up will occur between 8:00 and 8:30 and 1:15 and 1:45 respectively with the exception of the first week when pick-up will happen between 12:15 and 12:45.  For the first week of school, please adjust the pick-up times back one hour.
  • To allow for physical distancing, families will drop-off and pick-up their children at the following designated times. Times are assigned by the student’s last name.  If your children have different last names, please coordinate a time with Becky Wood by emailing dbsoffice@hartfordschools.net.
    • A to D Drop-Off 8:00 Pick-Up 1:15
    • E to Mc Drop-Off 8:10 Pick-Up 1:25
    • Me to Z Drop-Off 8:20 Pick-Up 1:35
  • Families should identify their time based on the child’s last name with the following exceptions.
    • Families who have a child in the AM pre-K session and children in the K to 5 program may drop-off at the 8:00 time slot.
    • Families who have a child in the PM pre-K session and children in the K to 5 program may pick-up at the 1:35 time slot.
  • Each grade will be assigned a door for children to enter and exit through.  Instead of driving by the front of the school, when families come to the school they will travel around the building in a counterclockwise direction and stop at their child’s designated door.  This will take people behind the building on the bike path.
    • 1st Grade- Gymnasium Door
    • 2nd Grade- Related Arts Hallway Door
    • 3rd/4th Grade- Recess Door
    • K/5th Grade- Garden Door
  • Bus schedules can be found on the district website.
  • When children arrive at school, they will wash their hands and have their temperature taken.  Children with an elevated temperature will be sent home.

Remember to follow the new traffic pattern and to drop off and pick up from your student's grade-level assigned door.
